The number of employees who left the company on their own accord in 2015 has slightly decreased. Altogether 1 860 employees left Clariant, about 7 % were laid off due to organizational or operational reasons or left because of retirement, expiration of temporary contracts and other reasons. The remaining number, about 3.5 % of the employees, were voluntary terminations. In the same time period, 2 129 new employees joined Clariant. From those who left, 1 322 males and 538 females, 30 % were younger than 30 years of age, 45 % were between 30 and 50 years of age, 25 % were over 50 years of age. From those who were hired, 1 500 males and 629 females, 56 % were younger than 30 years of age, 40 % were between 30 and 50 years of age, and 4 % were over 50 years of age.
