Since the beginning of the systematic analysis of all energy consumption at Clariant in 2006, the consumption of energy per produced ton of products has been reduced by more than 55% within ten years. The energy demand per production unit in 2016 was approx. 720 kWh/t (absolute 2950 m kWh), compared to 782 kWh/t in 2015 (absolute 2866 m kWh).
