In 2012, Clariant initiated a program to promote more family friendly job opportunities. As part of this program, all mothers are guaranteed a comparable position upon their return to work of up to one year following the birth or adoption of a child. For the two years following the birth or adoption, Clariant grants mothers ten days of paid leave for family purposes, in addition to their standard annual vacation. Correspondingly, this provision is available to fathers as well. 8604 males and 2244 females were entitled to this provision in 2016. 184 mothers and 352 fathers took advantage of this opportunity in 2016. In the same year, 553 employees returned back to their workplace, of which 228 were females and 325 were males. Since 2013 1920 employees took parental leave.
